Bear Creek Baptist Church

Although Bear Creek Baptist Church was originated in 1942 in a welcoming farmer's home
here in the Algood area, it started in the original church building at 3248 Poston Whitaker Road in 1944 on a piece of donated land and in a building built by the community. Throughout the years there has been many members and several Pastors, and we are even on our second building at Bear Creek, but one thing has alway remained the same....the welcoming feeling of family, and warmth of the Holy Spirit. 

If you are looking for a church to call your Home Church, we believe that Bear Creek is the place and our Pastor, Brother Jerry Blair is Pastor you are looking for. Even though we are still growing in size and stature, if the love gets much bigger we will have to buy more property to put it on. We believe that when you know each individual in the church you are more likely to love them and show them more personal care than if you were only a face and a number. If you would like to grow spiritually and be a part of a down home church as it grows physically, COME GROW WITH US!!

What We Do

We would like to welcome our Pastor, Brother Jerry Blair and his wife Carlene to Bear Creek. After many months of prayer, the Lord has sent them to us.

Our purpose at Bear Creek is first to preach the unchanging truth directly from the word of God so that we and those around us can grow and learn and teach the way the Lord would have us to do in order that souls may be saved. Second, we want to make you feel at home and let you know that not only does God love you, but we do too! We want to welcome you into our family!
